The Sheep's Prayer is taken from the song "Raving and Drooling," later to be rewritten and recorded as the song "Sheep".

After their success with "Dark Side of the Moon," Pink Floyd began exploring new songs, and developed them by playing them in concert. Many of these songs became their next new album "Wish You Were Here."

However, two of the songs; "You've Got To Be Crazy," and "Raving and Drooling" which had been played live during their 1974 and 1975 tours, were never released or recorded until they were rewritten as "Sheep", and "Dogs" for the "Animals" album.

These early versions of "Sheep" and "Dogs," can be heard on many live audience recordings. Above is the prayer, a parody of "The Lord's Prayer," which Roger chanted through a vocoder during "Raving and Drooling".
