The showwas magical, it seemed like anything you could imagine or were just thinking at
that moment appeared on stage. Roger shows that Rock shows are more than
music & lights, a total Communication & Multimedia Experience.
When everything began, the audience was at a fever pitch with the explosion of "In The flesh",
and after, all the images talking about mother, goals, the experiences you have leading you
through this
life, and the bad dreams alluded to in"Shine on your Crazy Diamond" and Wish
You Were Here" it was a spectacular performance. After the interlude of the nostalgic "Breathe in
the Air" on the stage... Roger shows the strength of his voice in Dark Side of the Moon parts of
"Time & "Eclipse"and the solo of "Confortably Numb"is the gold at the end of this Magnificent
rainbow of a Show.
I just wanted to say Mr. Waters, Thank you for coming to play for us & performing the master
piece of your art.
For all my life Domo Arigato ;-)
The show was more than magic, Roger, the band were just clean, aperfect
sound,in the English way, that made the ground of POP's Valley in
Venezuela vibrate.

In the flesh, the first song, caused the fans to shout deliriously along with notes of the instruments, which were complete with effects of light and sound. At the bottom stood Waters on a raised area of the stage, and behind was a screen where scenes of the The film The Wall were projected. And after that ....the great helicopter entrance (not just sound, a real helicoptor...). It was a great begining for a great and marvelous concert.
Everything was perfect. The sound,
the lights, the images on the screen, the musicians and specially the backup chorus. They are really
great! Waters is without discussion a living legend in the world of music. Thanks
for comming. We hope to see you back again in your next World Tour. Venezuela
will recieve you with open arms.

Uncle Rog seemed to be enjoying the show a lot (I'm happy for him), and so was the audience. The setlist was exactly the same as in previous shows, and the quadraphonic sound system helped to make this one a memorable, unforgettable night.
The concert was just great from the beginning until the end, although there were 3 highlights that literally gave me cold sweats: The first one was the real helicopter that flew for a while about 100 ft. above the audience during The Best Days of Our Lives, which drove the place completely nuts. The second one -as mentioned above- was Perfect Sense, you could almost hear jaws dropping to the floor as the song evolved. The third and last was Comfortably Numb, with Chester and Snowy exchanging licks for a few minutes before playing the last bars of the song in unison.
All in all, a thrilling experience. I can guarantee that those who are planning to see Rog will not be dissappointed: too many good songs, great quadraphonic sound and an excellent, gifted handful of musicians. It can't get any better than this!. (And if you are not into Roger's solo works, never mind. I don't think too many people in Caracas had listened to Pros and Cons and/or Amused, but I already mentioned how everyone reacted to Perfect Sense).
Thanxs much for coming down to Venezuela, Rog. Hope to see you again here soon!

While waiting I gave 2000 orange fliers away with the request of his unpublished song 'FLICKERING FLAME'. Everyone was excited and I thought we might convince him about playing that touching song. I also drew a couple of banners so he could read our request.
After waiting 9 hours, heat and sun, the concert started with the overwhelming ' eins, zwei, drei' I couldn't believe I was ten meters away from Roger, never been so close, never so excited about a concert before, including my attendance to In The Flesh Tour 2000 at West Palm Beach on June 3rd 2000.
The whole thing was a combination of his greatest work and one of the greatest performances ever. We were
yelling and screaming as the concert was taking place. Snowy White looked at the banner and smiled, Roger
looked too and gave me a thumbs up and a smile. Every song was magical and right before Brain Damage there
was a silence,
I screamed: 'ROGER!!!!'
What a surprise his as his response was: 'WHAT???'
The crowd got mad and Roger said:'Why are you screaming if I'm speaking to this guy over here... pointing at me.
I went speechless and a loud: 'HELLO!!!' came out of my mouth. I felt out of space: Roger Waters answered me!!!!!! What a reward for
being his fan!!!!.
Comfortably Numb started, and so did everyone with the orange fliers I gave away and the Flickering Flame wish, he finished the concert and started to wave goodbyes and thanking phrases, we all yelled and asked him to come back.
He came back and said something about the next song, he had only sang it in South Africa and Brazil, and the reason of singing it was our persistence and again pointed at us! Then one of the greatest poetry he had created began, speaking about his ideals of freedom and his wish for justice .
I felt like everybody in the world could understand and speak my own language, the language of mercifulness. I'd like to believe I was one of the guys responsible for that last gift to all of his fans.
Now back at my city Maracaibo an emptiness fills my being, I feel an orphan, I guess that's the way everyone's feeling right now .
Thanks for everything Roger..
Every song was great; there was non-stop
euphoria for nearly three hours, except in the second
half when Roger sang some of his solo material, which
was a good thing after all, since most people didnt
know the lyrics and you could easily appreciate
Roger's voice and the sounds of all the instruments,
specially in IT'S A MIRACLE. PERFECT SENSE was a true
highlight among his solo songs, as were ANOTHER BRICK,
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE (with its great animations on
the background), SHINE ON, and the continuous
BREATHE-TIME-MONEY among the better known Floyd
material (the drum intro to TIME was incredibly
powerful).
Even though at times the lighting wasn't
anything out of this world, the giant background
screen was always bursting with animation, video or
abstract psychedelic colors, an effect mostly used
when they played SHINE ON and SET THE CONTROLS (this
one with images of the four original Pink Floyd
members moving on the background. I felt an eerie
sensation when I saw today's Roger looking up to the
video projected behind him, watching himself 30 years
younger, falling over a field of wheat with a smile of
extasy upon his face. A magical moment indeed).
And as
was to be expected, the closing was spectacular,
gigantic, as they played BRAIN DAMAGE-ECLIPSE and then
COMFORTABLY NUMB while the audience's excitement
reached its peak (well, actually the last song was
Flickering Flame, but this one was more like a smooth
desert). Overall, an overwhelming show, a moment in
rock history that'll shine on forever in our memories,
and most definetely THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!

Finally we could experience in our very own flesh the
magnitude and range of a Roger Waters concert. A
complex and carefully detailed show, delivering all
the favourite classics with astonishingly clear and
powerful sound, and stunning visuals to match. Roger's
entrance with the band was grandeur itself, fireworks
and all, opening the show with IN THE FLESH Pt. 2, and
then surprising us all with a REAL helicopter flying
just a few meters above our heads as they started to
play THE HAPPIEST DAYS OF OUR LIVES and ANOTHER BRICK
Pt. 2. (Ask anyone who went, and the first thing
they'll tell you is how amazing the helicopter thing
was).

Yesterdays concert was a mixture of magic and music, since the first fireworks,
through the helicopter scene, the show was a wish come true... It started with
"In the flesh", and ended with "Flickering Flame". A helicopter came flying over
the concert, moving around concert area, it was incredible!. The sound WHOA!!!
and the performance on stage was far from my expectations. I really enjoyed the
concert. And would like to thank Mr. Waters, and I hope to see him again in his
next tour.
