Somentimes I feel like an E.T. in this world controled by "lunatics", only
your art can relieve me and put some sense to my days. Maybe one day your art will
definitively help us to put down the wall built by these "lunatics" who've scattered
famine, misery and war around the world.
The sound, images, effect, yourself and the band were perfect. Your twinlight is
being marvelous and your art will go on to the eternity.
I hope to watch you again in the future wherever around the Planet.
Thank you for the show.
Roger, I went to the Pacaembú stadium last weekend and I'm out of my mind yet.
I'm Brazilian and I've waited for this moment all my life. The feelings and
emotions were unforgetable and will last forever to me. It is gratifying to meet
a man who shares the same thoughts as me. We Latin Americans have suffered many
years of repression and thought control during several dictatorships, you,
Roger, through your songs is our liberty scream.

Roger's son is a good one instrumentalist, in the my opinion, he was a great showman!
The
Show was carried out in the stadium of soccer PACAEMBU - Saint Paulo -
Brazil, in front of more than 25 thousand fans. Roger played two shows, one on the 14 and one on the
15 of March.
When he finished doing one show with a crowd that published reports said to be 25 thousand persons,
he did another then next
night, again to 25,000, with a gross total of over 50 thousand persons, seeing his show.
cya...Carlos .......;)
Then we talked a little more about some other issues and when I hung up I ran in despair in order to buy an O Globo newspaper, but where to find one in São Paulo? Fortunatelly it was easier to find than I thought. And there it was: an interview with Roger, on page 4 of the second division. At that moment my preparations began for the arrival of the greatest musician in the history of mankind.
March 15th, 2002, 30 minutes am. The third Roger Waters show in Brazil is finished and I can say with a great joy in my heart it was also my third "In the flesh" show too.
They were 7 of the happiest days of my life.
They began on march 9th, Saturday, when the first gig began at 09h16pm at
Apoteose prace, in the Sambódromo of Rio de Janeiro. A lot of posters
outdoors afixed at
the bus stations etc., announced the coming of the genius.
25 thousand people at least. Perfect sound, but the weather was very hot and maybe that was the reason for a sax solo we could not hear, probably for some microphone problem and Roger, probably to prove he is not a God but a human being, made a mistake in Brain Damage lyrics but the song seemed to be more beautiful yet!
Two hours and fourty minutes of glory, divided in two by a twenty minutes break. "Dogs" in the first part of the show proves what it was never heard here in Brazil: Qsound with dolby. "Every Stranger Eyes" arrives at the second part of the show and with her (yes I think songs have gender) the total impossibility to hold the emotion. A sky full of stars with no clouds and the Christ statue standing up on the top of the Corcovado mountain completed the spectacle. At the end, I spent all the gas of a lighter during the closing song "Each Small Candle".
March 12th, tuesday, at Porto Alegre. A famous Brazilian musician talked very well about Roger Waters in the local newspaper - "Zero Hora" - this left me emotional. And he really was there, entering through the gate 2 of the Olimpic Stadium, just like me.
40 thousand people easy. And at 09h06pm the second show in Brazil began. Even more perfect sound than in Rio de Janeiro, probably due to the accoustics of the stadium. Perfect gig, no microphone problem and the anxiety to hear Brain Damage again - no, Waters sang it in a perfect way. Clear sky too, besides the rain for all day long before the night arrived. And instead of "Each Small Candle" to close the show like he did in Rio de Janeiro, in Porto Alegre Waters sang for the first time in Latin America his new song - "Flickering Flame".
Thursday, March 14th in São Paulo. Big expectations because the show must have had the biggest audience, which is what really happened. At the unique town where tickets for special chairs next to the stage were sold, my ticket allowed me to sit at 18 meters from the stage..
40 minutes before the show began, the practically unknown at that moment, to the Brasilian audience, (but of course not for me) Harry Waters, Roger's son, walks through the premium area, watching the crowd. I just could not stay seated, so I went to talk to him, shake his hand, tell him about his excellent keyboard performance at Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre and said his father is a genius. Extremely sympathetic, he thanked me and I shook his hand again.
To keep the tradition of being the city with worst traffic in the world, the show began at 09h45pm in order to make sure everybody has arrived at the Pacaemb stadium. We entered heaven again, and like the other shows, I watched Roger show extreme sympathy and thanks to the auddience with several charming thanks in portuguese ("obrigado").
Again, perfect sound from the begining till the end, with Andy Fairweather Low exceeding his geniality on the "Money" guitar solo. Roger Waters finished with golden key the third and last show I attended playing "Flickering flame". That's enough. Waters, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon...........
