Many members have asked what the set list for Roger's new tour will be. Roger has stated in several interviews that he will tour the same show and set list he toured in the US. However, this was before the departure of Lead Guitarist Doyle Bramhall II and Keyboardist extraordinaire Jon Carin. So it was of great interest whether or not the song set list for the new tour would remain the same as the last tour or whether there will be any changes.

It seems that the new tour show setlist does indeed contain some surprises. The "Wish You Were Here" album, less "Have a Cigar," is now played in it's entirety, with a full 23 minute version of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts 1-9," separated of course by Welcome to the Machine and Wish You Were Here.

There were also other changes in the showÕs presentation. During this leg of the In The Flesh tour, much more video and animations are used in addition to the still images used in the past legs of the tour. For the first time in 30 years, the full "Machine" animation created by Gerald Scarfe, is being projected during the show.

A new unreleased Roger Waters song entitled 'The Flickering Flame' had been rehearsed before the tour (a portion of which can be heard during the rehearsals seen in the special section on the "Live In The Flesh" DVD, where Roger plays a few bars). However, before the tour began, Roger had stated that he would not be playing any new songs, other than "Each Small Candle"during the coming shows. But this does not seem to have been the case for many of the shows performed during the tour.

"The Flickering Flame," was played in place of the also unreleased "Each Small Candle," as the final encore at Roger's first 2002 tour date in Capetown South Africa. "The Flickering Flame" was again played at the Porto Alegre, and the second of the Sao Paulo shows in Brazil, and again at the Caracus Venesuela and Mexico City Shows. "Each Small Candle" has been the encore for all other shows to date.

It seems that there is a movement among thousands of the fans attending shows to entice Roger to play The Flickering Flame. In a few instances, thousands of flyers, cards and banners were printed and distributed, asking Roger to play the new song. It will be interesting to see how often "The Flickering Flame" again makes an appearance at other shows during this tour.
