From the Camden New Jersey Show
Sept. 15th 2006 at the Tweeter Center

From: Mark Cornes
One of the best concerts I have been to in a very long time. Roger played tribute to Syd in the first set with Wish You Were Here and Set the Controls... it was just amazing. He went deep into The Wall and pulled out Mother and Comfortably Numb. He needs to come back again soon. Not a person leaving the concert had a bad thing to say, and from the looks on everyone's faces, it seemed everyone knew they just saw an amazing work of art.

Just wanted to say that a 102 degree fever could not keep me from attending last nights show. As good as I thought it would be, it was 100 times better. Waters looked great, he played great, and sang perfectly. The band was super tight and was just on all night.

The set list was just as it has been for the rest of the shows. I was hoping Nick Mason would make an appearance, but didn't. One of the highlights of the show was during SHEEP, they brought out the pig. They walked it through the crowd, and out to us in the lawn seat area. This portion of the Tweeter Center is outside. The pig was released into the sky and as the band played the ending of the song, the pig just floated away into the night with a lone spotlight on it. It was surreal.

Starting the night off with IN THE FLESH gave me goosebumps, and hearing Dark Side in it's entirety live was just too much. Anyone who does not see this tour is missing something special.

I caught both the Camden and PNC shows on the tour, and I had an amazing time. Roger and his band sound great, both in terms of performance and sound system quality. I was inside at PNC and on the lawn at Camden (although I did manage to sneak inside for some of the first set), and the sound was great everywhere.

First set highlights for me were Set the Controls, Have a Cigar, Sheep, Fletcher Memorial Home. Dark Side was, of course INCREDIBLE!!! I really liked the visuals too, a nice combination of some older screen footage and some newer sequences and effects. Loved the start/end moon/satellite sequence especially.

Being pretty close up at PNC I hadn't noticed the pig being let go, so the nature of the release at Camden became a conversation topic at setbreak - was it an accident? Act of musical terrorism? Having read other reviews I now know it's all just part of the show every night.

Another Brick in the Wall was another highlight for me. The energy of the crowd was just bursting at the seams. I just wish Roger would have dropped the canned chorus and just let the crowd sing "We don't need no education.... etc.." - we were certainly loud enough!

I've seen a lot of shows at a lot of venues around the country, and Camden is always a highlight of any tour - the Tweeter Center itself is huge, packing in great crowds, and the disrepair (for lack of a better description) of the local neighborhood encourages a sort-of "anything goes" attitude that works well at rock concerts.

Ahh... and of course, what would any review of this tour be without talking about Leaving Beirut? Musically, I thought it wasn't all that interesting, but I really enjoyed the visual accompaniment - the graphic art was spectacular. As far as Roger's political intentions go, I personally agree with most of what he has to say, but I found the song to be a little too overt - I'd prefer a little more ambiguity with the inevitable joy of discovery and interpretation.

With some of the old Floyd material, particularly Animals, Roger is laying out some heavy ideas and opinions, but in a much more lyrically nuanced fashion and with much more complex and beautifully grooving music. I bet a lot of the people that booed Roger after Leaving Beirut were bobbing their heads and grinning ear to ear when he played Sheep moments later... ironic.

As far as people getting angry, booing, leaving early, freaking out, etc, I think its just silly. We paid to see this guy, he has every right to say what he wants - and I think most fans should have come to expect such punditry from Roger if they've been paying any attention at all for the last 30 years or so. Such a reaction would be like getting upset at a Madonna show because she was too overtly sexual.

But I digress...

All in all I was extremely pleased with the show and had a great time. I really thought the boys would all get back together for a tour after Live 8 though! How sick would that be?

Maybe next year ;-)

Hello: I saw Roger Waters last night (Saturday-Sept. 16, 2006) at the Camdem Tweeter Center at the Waterfront. It was awonderful show that was close to three hours of solid music and energy.

The show was sold out and many folks outside were looking for tickets before the show. The crowd was a mix of young, middle aged, and older with the last two groups being more numerous than the young. There were a number of Father's with their sons including me and my sixteen year old. It was my son's first concert and needless to say he loved it and was very excited.

The show started with Roger singing Pink Floyd hits one after another. He played for about an hour and a half. Then a twenty minute break and came back for the second half to play the entire "Dark Side of the Moon". WOW!

There was an encore of about twenty minutes more of great stuff. The concert was very fulfilling regarding the music - you could not complain about anything. The sound was great along with super lighting effects. The background videos and slides played to the music the entire concert with a message of it's own.

The musicians and female singers were top notch - great sax, drums, bass guitar, lead guitar, keyboards, the entire group showed great polish and maintained an energy that was electric.

Roger played a new song about Lebanon that was booed and jeered somewhat because they just don't get it. The song was about people and the love we share - no matter what our nationality, background, color, etc. It was about people - very caring words - he even explained his thoughts and reasons for writing the song and they missed it - what a shame. Thank God Roger Waters has the strength and energy to continue his fabulous run through life. And thank God he shares it.

It was a great evening!

"BEST SHOW EVER!!!"

They virtually nailed every note tonight - vocal and instrumental. Two people in my group of 6 stated thatthis was easily the best show they had ever seen. One friend was not very familiar with Pink Floyd and stated, "Now I have to buy a bunch of their CDs".Each member of our party agreed that we didn't want the showto stop and 3 hours seemed to pass byin a few moments. We paid $29.50 for our seats (the lunatics were on the grass). WOW! Let me say that again backwards, WOW!

It's so rewarding to introduce people to Waters. Many folks only know ABITW2 a/or MONEY. Please come back in a year or two Mr. Waters -so my youngerson (6 years)can have the pleasure of experiencingyour wonderful work.

One of the highlights for me was having my 19-year-old son grab me and shake me in a frantic state ofaural-artisticbliss when Roger uttered those legendary words that concisely capture the paradox of rock fame and fortunefrom Have a Cigar, "...by the way, which one's Pink?" It was a serendipitousmoment of seamless father-and-son connectedness.

Hi michael, I went to the Roger Waters show at the Tweeter Center in Camden. He did the same set as he did at the Tuesday show in New York City. He was amazing. It was much louder than the Tuesday show and he had the crowd mesmorized. I took my 2 sons to this show, they are age 11 and 13. It was their first concert, and they were in total shock. They could not believe how great the sound was, and how dynamic Roger's voice sounded. I am looking forward to the release of Roger's new CD. I am anxious to get my paws on the song "Leaving Beriut". Stay cool and I'll see you on the dark side.

I must admit when I got my tickets, I expected the best. Not only did I get what I expected, but a whole lot more. I could not take my eyes off Roger Waters as he performed. He put his heart and soul into that performance and it looked like it was not just a "JOB" to him but a real pleasure to perform to our sold out arena.

Born in the early 1970s, I don't think anyone my age can truthfully say "Who is Pink Floyd?". My parents had all the 'albums' and also saw Pink Floyd in concert and they, too, were blown away. As I looked out into the crowd, EVERYONE, of all ages was rockin' and singin' and havin' a great time. I think I even saw my Nana. lol.

As a great performer, I just knew he would do our encore. I don't even think he got off the stage when he turned around and saw a sea of cell phones and lighters (for us old schoolers) that lit up the night. He blew us away with the encore. There was not a person who was NOT singing.

To Roger Waters, thank you for making my first Pink Floyd concert experience truly amazing. Please continue to tour, as you will always have fans that want to see you.

Saw the show at the Tweeter Center in Camden NJ. The sound was fantastic. The venue was great too. It was my first visit to the Tweeter center. The show was the fastest 3 hours of my life. Just wish it would have lasted longer. Hopefully Roger will be putting out a DVD of this tour so I can get some close ups of the individual performances.

That is my only complaint about the show. I was hoping that the big screens would not only have great visuals (which they did), but close ups of the band members during their solos.

"The Great Gig in the Sky" has to be my highlight of the show. Although its hard to choose. As I lit the blunt at the start of the encore, all I could do was smile. Unfortunately when the house lights came on I knew my trip throughtime was over. Definitely wasone of the best shows I ever saw.Looking forward to Roger's new material due out soon.
