This was the best concert I have ever been to. I had goose pimples from the
beginning to the end. I appreciated Mr. Waters speaking in French. The lights, the
sound, the vocals, were all so great. The musicians were fantastic. Frankly I
would have paid more. Congratulations to the whole group especialy Roger Waters.
I hope he will come back.
The setlist was the same as his previous shows. Maria, I was sitting right
next to the stage and I saw Roger signing your album. You turned around waving the album to everyone.
That moment brought Maria such joy. That was the same feeling we all had from the beginning to the end of
the show. It was surreal. Please come back soon Roger.
This is the 4th time I've seen Roger Waters (solo) and he never fails to impress me. He was the heart of Pink Floyd and one only needs to listen to post Roger Waters Pink Floyd and you quickly realize that Pink Floyd is only going through the motions. In fact the Waters solo material is far superior to any post Waters Pink Floyd material. Back to the show.
If the show would have ended after the first half, I would have already gotten my money's worth. The second half was as good. The show was visually stunning. The on going movie in the back ground of the man drinking scotch and smoking was extremely effective. The guitar playing was dead on. The vocals on the great gig in the sky were excellent. The highlights of the show were Set The Controls for the Heart of the Sun, Perfect Sense, Have A Cigar, On The Run, Us And Them, and Bring The Boys Back Home.
Thank you Mr. Waters for putting on another show that comes
"Straight from the Heart". Hope you will be back soon in Montreal-
and please this time play more of your solo stuff.
BUT! to the credit of Mr Mason, and as muchas he could have lost some of it over the years,Graham Broadcan't hold a candle to himas far as the drum of Pink Floyd, and we could clearly see it in Sheep and Time. May be that's because there's only one Nick Mason.
And yes Roger's voicehad a hard time in Sheep, but hey ! the man's 62...
aren'twe lucky and thankful he played it after19 years of waiting andhimknowing
it won't be easy.
I really do not care about what he has to say on the political front (just like the Dixie chicks). His opinions are, simply put, HIS opinions. For me it soured an otherwise excellent show. Beruit of 2006 is not Beriut of the 60s.
Roger is a musician & song writer. He should play the music and keep his
political views to himself.
