From the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Show
Sept. 18th 2006 at the Post Gazette Pavillion

From: Chad Butler
I've never been to a Pink Floyd show and never listened to Rogers solo work. But this was by far the best show I have seen in years.

I grew up listening to bands from England. (Stones, Zepplin, Floyd, list is too long). Roger looks and sounds AWSOME.

I am in the U.S. Navy - please don't look down at me - and I have been here for 10 years. I'm only in for retirement. No, I don't trust our Government. Nor do I respect this administration. P.S. love the Pig. Bush is a liar!!!!!!!!!! I've lost friends in this war over... what????????

I wanted to say my wife and I both went to the concert and we loved it. Although we heard boo's... a lot of people share my views of this war.

Please don't hate the uniform we don't have the ability to say "you go fight your war... we are staying home and were going to see Roger Waters." But it would be nice if we could.

I just wonna say thankyou for a fabulous show in Pittsbugh. The radio stations have been braggin about the show for two days now. This is my second time seeing the band. They are awsome!!! I am into Snowy White's playing, but that Dave Kilminster blew my mind. I would love to meet them sometime. Is there a DVD of this concert coming out? I have "In The Flesh." I thuoght that was a mind blowing concert. Thankyou. I hope to see you guys soon....

I had seen Roger the night before in Virginia with my wife - but the second night was to be THE night. as a friend and myself had front row seats to see Rog in Pittsburgh's Post Pavillion. This was by far the most incredible concert experience I have had in my 39 years. The bias is heavy as I am a big fan, and seeing a concert from this vantage point clearly changes your perspective.

One thing that struck me from being this close is the passion, connection and love Roger has for this music and the experience in sharing it.

I had read some reviews on other sites and people were remarking as to people booing during certain "Anti-War" pieces... i.e. Leaving Beirut. I didn't see that at all... Although I did meet one gentlemen on my second night who had had one to many adult beverages who made some passing comment about how Roger was trying to convert people to Islam. What a buffoon.

My review....

The team of usual suspects in the band played remarkably - as well they should with many of the core team members have played together for many many years now. That may lead me to two major observations - the perfomance was extremely tight which is GREAT but having seen the show the night before it could appear to some that some of the brimming energy more apparent in the previous tour was not as apparent here. Not a major complaint for sure - but something that an observant fan may notice.

Some of my highlights....

Set the Controls had a great presentation overall and gave a chance for Ian Ritchie to show some of his fine talents. The video presentation for this section was taken from some of the same vintage shots from Rog's last tour but with the added bonus of some great vintage videos from the Syd days. One of the highlights of the first act.

Fletcher Memorial Home: Roger demonstrated some of his great passion in this song which he did sitting. This song has renewed value in today's world... the Fletcher Memorial home apparently is getting quite full these days...

Perfect Sense 1-2: This piece was a highlight and gave Roger a chance to get everyone back on their feet. Another song that resonates so well in today's world.

Leaving Beirut: My wife, who came along with me in Virginia, would consider herself a fan by marriage. For her many of these songs were new - her impressionmatched mine, that this song should be considered a new Roger masterpiece. I like his concert version better than the version he releaased awhile back. Wonderful way to tell this touching story with the story board in the background. I have seen other reviews of how this song angered them somehow... if someone was unclear as to Roger's politics prior to this concert, you have been living in a well.I for one applaud this songs message.

Sheep was well done... but I missed the longer version prepared during last tour with John Carin leading the song while the "Dogs" played poker. Still a powerful way to end the first act. (two of my posted shots came from this song).

Dark Side - Nice tight version of Dark Side with Dave Kilminster showing his talents on Money and Time. I guess his time spent writing the tabs for Money for that Guitarmagazine have paid off!Did anyone else think he looked like the guy who plays Gollum from the recent Lord of the Rings movies?

Great set - I liked what they did with "On the Run" - all else was faithful to the album.

The Encore wasa nice selection of pieces from the Wall - all of which were performed quite well.

Having only seen Pink Floyd in 1975, I was SO ready for this concert! I must say that, to me, it was a Pink Floyd show. Asit was at Three Rivers Stadium in '75, the show was outdoors and the night air was spectacular. Experiencing The Dark Side of the Moon performed live, and in its brilliant entirety, was nirvana for me. I sincerely hope that this tour will be the next Rogers Waters DVD!

I went to the concert for a relaxing evening, instead I went to a liberal rally pushing Roger Waters' views down my throat. I did not appreciate this. His songs/music should be the artistry, not graphic videos that depict his warped views.

He should try going to Beirut and collecting his "money" from them. He is a hypocrite, with the song 'Money' he showed oil wells. well, at $70 a ticket to sit and watch his political views, he is the real pig.

Best show I've ever seen, and I've been to more than 100... absolutely tremendous musicianship. Even though I don't agree with his politics, the music is what it's about and he is phenomenal!
