Hello, Good morning!!
I'm still thrilled with the amazing concert that Roger Waters' gave at Rock In Rio before 70.000 excited fans.

Roger brought the surround sound system (they had to install 10 additional sound columns around and throughout the audience area of the Rock In Rio Festival.)

After the performance of Carlos Santana, we waited about 30 minutes for the set change. And then Roger Waters and his band appeared on the stage and the crowd went mad!!Ê

The show started with 3 songs from "The Wall" Happiest Day, ABITW Part II, and Mother, where the female background vocals began to delight the audience. With Shine on..., and Wish You Were Here, the crowd sang along with the lyrics in an absolute moment of magic.

The next step of the show was amazing. Roger sat in a chair and started to sing a few masterpieces from The Final Cut, in a truly inimate and emotional moment with the 70.000 people, who then went mad with the performance of Perfect Sense: This was an absolutely Amazing moment!!

Leaving Beirut, one of Roger's newer songs that was only released as an Internet single, had a strong political message which touched the audience, and the first half ended with Set The Controls (magnificent) and Sheep.

After a short break, Roger and his band performed Dark Side of The Moon, with the large circular scene above the stage where the images were projected, and the audience reacted with massive enthusiasm to the all the entire album.

After Dark Side, the encore's were absolutely amazing. Roger and the band came back out to the stage and then, "Ein, Zwei, Drei!!" a pyrotechnic display erupted on stage and the crowd were wild: everyone had their hands in the air and ther voices singing In The Flesh, Vera, Bring the Boys Back Home and, finally, Comfortably Numb, where the pyrotechnic display increased into a huge fire ball which offered an unforgettable moment.

Roger seemed to have a great time, he seemed to enjoy himself and was very happy to interact with the audience. He said that we were a fantastic crowd and said lots of "obrigado's" (thank you's).

The band was amazing, like always, and the new guitar player (Dave Kilminster) played very well, but I think it is very difficult to play in the shadow of the fantastic Doyle Bramhall II.

In conclusion, this show was another great moment of my life: It was an amazing show, leaving me with the feeling of: WANTING MORE!!

Roger Waters: Thank you very much for the great moments that you gave to us!!

"The atmosphere backstage was relaxed and the artists interacted in a healthy way. Roger Waters surprised everyone by having lunch with his team at the catering tent."

I saw Roger Waters at Rock in Rio - Portugal and it was an absolutely awsome, amazing show!

I'm 40 years old now and the last timeÊI heard another brick in the wall had been a long, long time ago! This concert was thrilling! and to start with that song!! what a good vibe! Roger Waters is better than ever!

Thanks for staying true, for not conforming, for staying a rebel with a cause, for singing with your soul! thanks for being so great!!

IThe power of music is wonderful! and how it transports you through time!ÊI feel i'm 15 again but much better and my throat is still sore from so much fun and shouting since Saturday!

And the sound!!! wowÊI had never heard such fantastic quality and power like I did at Rock in Rio! a truly intimate, intense, powerful and emotional high concert!

Right on amazing Roger - i've bought the album too! hope to see you again soon!

Ê When the first live concert of Roger Waters in 'Pavilhão Atlântico' ended, four years before, I was very sad because I thought I wouldn't ever again be able to see this great legend. I'm glad I was wrong. He came back and he was even more fabulous.

There were almost seventy thousand people, a festive atmosphere, everyone feeling joy and satisfaction. Roger Waters began his concert with The Happiest Days of Our Lives and Another Brick In the Wall, bringing back the most famous songs from "The Wall". He had the audience in the palm of his hand from the first note. Later, there were more from The Wall, such as "Mother." There were also videos with an homage to Syd Barrett with "Shine On You Crazy Diamond".

With images of the former Pink Floyd being projected in a huge screen, he went on giving the audience hits like "Wish You Were Here", "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" and some more successes from "The Final Cut". Then came "Perfect Sense" which causes, as always, those fantastic shivers.

After a break of fifteen minutes, "The Dark Side of the Moon". Because of the surround sound, the audience felt as if they were inside a cash register or an ancient clock. After forty minutes around the moon, Waters came back for a great encore. He went back to "The Wall", singing "In the Flesh", "Vera" and "Bring the Boys Back Home".

The farewell happened with "Comfortably Numb", the stage erupted in a massive firework display, leaving the audience comfortably numb and in total ecstasy. Roger left the stage with a smile on his lips, telling us we were very important for him that night, touching his heart with his hand. This was the best concert I have ever seen.

Thank you, Sir Rogers Waters, for giving me such unforgettable moments, which I hope to repeat very soon.
