NEC Arena

From the Birmingham England Show
May 8th 2007

I bought a ticket for this at the last moment and wondered what I'd let myself in for. What I saw was truly amazing and extremely thought provoking and memorable - the music and the visuals were outstanding and I'm glad forked out the 50-odd quid.

The band were absolutely superb with some fantatstic long-time stalwarts - Snowy White, Andy Fairweather-Lowe, P.P Arnold and Katie Kissoon etc. The sound was excellent and as far as I can remember, with the exception of just one song this was an evening of classic Pink Floyd tracks - Have a Cigar, Fletcher Memorial Home, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, Pigs, Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Wish You Were Here, the whole of Dark Side of Moon, Another Brick in the Wall and Comfortably Numb etc etc. Two and half hours of pure nostalgia that left me wanting more - to the extent that I'm off to see if I can get a ticket for Earls Court on Friday!

Oh my God!! I went to the NEC last night, and I was absolutely blown away! It was incredible, fantastic, unbelievable, mesmorising, spectacular - shall I go on? I can't wait for the next one. It was worth every penny and then some!

Are they going to release the show on DVD? Certianly hope so.

"Outstanding performances by everyone. Flawless and powerful sound. 'Set the Controls..' was particularly impressive to hear live. AÊperfect selection of songs. It was too much to take in for one viewing and DSOM was over before I'd realised. The video screens were fantastic, with 2 smaller screens either side for close-ups of solos etc. The main screen was amazingly bright, and the videos were just superb with great production, I would love to see this on video again. Everything was classy with the effects not being too over the top, the explosions in the soundtrack shook the stadium!"

What a stunning show this was. I was lucky enough to be at Hyde Park last summer to watch the 2006 Dark Side of the Moon tour, and thought I would never see a show like it, however I was not disappointed.

Roger clearly was enjoying himself, and the sound and visuals were suburb. So many classic songs in one evening, this really was the greatest show on earth, and will live long into memory.
