From the Boston Massachusetts Show
July 9th 2007

From: Robert Zoeller
Boston was my fifth show of the 2006/2007 tour. Roger Waters has always been my favorite writer/composer/performer, and these shows were the best concerts that I have ever been to. All of the glowing reviews previously published can't give justice to just how good these performances were.

I bought the best seats available from the online ticket agencies for each show. The first four shows (Montreal, Cleveland, NYC, Montreal) were all front row on the sides of the stage. For Boston I finally scored what I had been hoping for, front row center!

What struck me at this show was how much Roger clearly enjoyed himself; how expressive he was, how he enjoyed interacting with the audience and how he admired the performances of his band members. When people previously asked me why I went to the same show over and over again I told them the shows were that good, and this might be the last time we get to see Roger in concert. After being close enough to see how much he enjoyed performing, I now believe that we will see him again!

The Boston performance was the best concert of my life for a couple of other reasons. One, I came prepared with my treasured "The Wall" LP and a sharpie. I had my girlfriend wave the album at him at the end of the second set. He acknowledged us and said "at the end". I was on pins and needles throughout the encore.

At the end of the show, security refused to give her a hand, and Roger said "just throw it". Well, she managed to throw the LP onto the stage and Roger autographed it for us in front of the packed arena!

The second surprise came the following day at the Ritz Carlton hotel. I called for a bell boy at noon to get our luggage, and my girlfriend went down to the giftshop in the lobby. About ten minutes later there was a knock at the door which I expected to be the bell boy. When I opened the door, there was my girlfriend and none other than Snowy White. She met him in the lobby and he was actually nice enough to go to a stranger's hotel room, shake my hand, give me a personalized note on Ritz Carlton stationary and spend a minute chatting with us. When I told him the storyabout the previous night, he recognized who we were and told us we were very lucky to get the autographed LP.

I know this story pales in comparison to Mike's tale of meeting all four members of Pink Floyd backstage at Live Eight. But it was my greatest concert experience none the less. For anyone with a chance to see one of the few remaining shows, please do not miss the opportunity.

I saw his show last year at Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Mass, and this show blew it out of the water! The band was so tight and hit every note spot on. The lighting and visuals have been greatly added to and made the show a visual and auditory spectacle. Roger really had passion when he sang and I love the fact that Snowy White played more solos this time around (Although Kilminster is absolutely amazing!) Best version of "Have a Cigar" I have ever heard - all in all A MUST SEE SHOW!!!
