Compared to last fall out in the amphitheater, I thought the sound overall
was better outside, could've been my location, but for MY ears, I thought last
night was not as clear. But the United Center was built for Michael Jordan, not
Roger Waters ;-)
A few new wrinkles in visuals, I thought the giant prism was
cool, I didn't think the pyro added much at all, kind of felt thrown in there
just to do something. The giant high def screen is still the best prop to me, The
images are just crystal clear.
The band seemed flat to me, I think this tour
can't end too soon for them. The same set, note for note, every night, how can
that stay fun for long? I loved Leaving Beirut last time, and it was a high point
again last night. Andy Faiweather-Low wore a cowboy hat, and just ripped
the solos, this was really the only big contribution I noticed from him.
Kilminster and Snowy White took most of the solos. What a testament to Gilmour to
have 3 axemen out there! The girls were beautiful as always, especially katie
Kissoon, and The Great Gig in the Sky was special as always.
I don't think the show sold
out, but it was close. There was the usual mix of young and old. I was nice to see music bridging the
generations.
Peace, PLEASE!
Well, no surprises in the set :-( But, still a rockin' good show. Rog's voice sounds
shot though. I see he's got a few days till the next gig out in L.A., he needs
it!

Now as for Roger and the band, they didnt miss a beat. They rocked that house and everyone around me were really enjoying themselves. I really liked the prism towards the end of the show.

The set was the same as last years show but better this year. I am still in awe from what I saw and heard. It also looked like Roger was enjoying it and having a great time. He still has it at his age. He still sounds very good and can still rock. I only wish that now he would come out with some new material for a complete cd. Us fans really need that.

Having seen Roger on the 2006 leg of his tour, I was amazed at how much BETTER this show was. The band was tighter, the guitars players, David and Snowy and Andy, were all on sync the whole show. The visuals were far better than last year, and Roger was in rare form.
The highlights for me included The Fletcher Memorial Home, where a 20-something guy next to me was so moved (and evidently was there for "the hits" only) he asked me about the song, the history and told me, "I'll have to get the Final Cut and listen to it. Also, Sheep and Any Colour You Like, really stood out!
The crowd also was 99% behind his political views... at least as to the travesty which is Geoge Bush's administration. I find it so amusing that there are some reviews from people who evidently have NEVER understood Roger's political message both in Floyd and his solo-work, yet they go see him and then express outrage and SHOCK because they support the tyrant we currently have in office! Did they ever listen to ANYTHING he has done?
This being my 6th Waters show, going back to Pros and Cons, I just hope it is not my last. Thank you, Roger!

Roger Waters kicks ass.
He had this crazy look in his eyes during the sub part of Perfect Sense. This show had a better Sheep and DSOM than last year. Harry waters is doing some crazy stuff on On the Run. David was flawless. I did prefer the Set the Controls from Tinley. Snowy gave a better solo at that show. Snowy should leave the comfortably numb solo to David... he does a better job with it.
Great show and can't wait till Milwaukee. This is the hotest tour Roger has ever put on.
Peace On Earth,
Joe

I attended the concert in Chicago on June 9, 2007 with much anticipation. I was
impressed when Roger came out on stage before he starting playing and walked to
both sides of the stage to say hello to everyone and waived. That was a humble
guy.
His opening numbers from The Wall, were excellent. Everything was going well until he started bashing President Bush. I have a hard time withnon-Americans, on tour in America, bitching about our government. Roger is a bloody brit. It is not his place to bitch about my president. Why doesn't he just shut up and sing?
I didn't pay $140 a ticket to be blasted with his political opinion. He should
stay home and bitch about his own government.
Not only was it well worth the money if he would have stopped after the first set - but to hear them come back out and perform the Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety and then comeback out for a 5 song encore - my God man - what more could you possibly have wanted. And the sound was impeccable - loud enough you can't hear the person next to you, but not enough to hurt your ears, very crisp & clean
Maybe someday (wishful thinking) David & Roger will put aside their differences and do one more tour of a lifetime - until then, I can say I have seen them both.
Anything else about Saturday night - all I can
say - WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard he was doing the Dark Side of the Moon and
then his own stuff. To my suprise he did a LOT of Floyd stuff. It was just like a Floyd concert! It was
AWESOME. IT gave me goosebumps just like the Floyd concerts did. Everything about it was great. We saw
them in Chicago, and now I want to go to another city and see them again. Too bad I can`t afford it. Ya know
it`s a damn good concert if ya wanna see the same thing over again! I love Floyd and I love Waters. Some
people "just don`t get it", and I feel sorry for them.
