The show was the same show and has been reviewed on this site over and over. Yes,
it was just as awesome as many of you have stated prior!!! My only criticism is that the
set list never changes. Roger has so many songs that the vast majority of us have never
seen or heard live. My favorite being "Free Four". Perhaps a tour where he alternates an
entire LP, live. Wouldn't "The Final Cut" be a treat to hear in it's entirety??
Anyways, last nights performance once again shows why Roger and his band continue to
pack in the fans. The entire show was simply brilliant.
Last nights show had all the rewards a fan could possibly hope for. Roger arrives in a private
black van, at about 4:00pm, and very generously signs two autographs for myself and my son.
Half of the band arrive about 30 minutes later, and then 15 minutes later the rest of the band
arrives. Each member signs autographs either as they were getting out of their van's, or
(as so promised, as the second van was late for sound check), after the soundcheck. I
missed PP and Katie, (others received their autograph), but each other member was so
friendly, shared stories of their South American gigs (60,000+ plus arena's), and each were
very excited to chat and answer questions in the few hours leading up to the show.
What a tremendous gift: Being able to chat with Rogers band.
The Dark Side Set was missing a little something from last year, (went to all three nights at The Bowl) it must have been Nick's cymbal work. And the new laser prism used at the endwas just fantastic. Also, the pig was twice the size of last year, and a little less pyros.
I met alot of great people that night (my wife and I got there at 5:15 pm). Also, one last thing I'ld like to say about the crowd... they stayed in there seats until the ancore, this is the way it should be at a Rog/Pink show. I remember seeeing David Gilmour at the Gibson Amphitheater last year and there were so many people that were there just to try and score on whatever hot "chick" they were with. Not there for the music! DO YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?
Anyway LOVED the show and look forward to Friday night at the Irvine Meadows! Thanx for reading.
I enjoyed this years show much more, maybe because I knew what was coming, or it was just a better show. I enjoyed the first half much more this year. The sound and visual effects seemed much more polished although Roger sounded a little hoarse (after that much touring, it's expected).
Again,"Dark Side Of The Moon " was like a dream revisited. I first heard the album in 1973 while serving in the US Army in Korea. I saw it first performed in it's entirety in 75 with the whole band and then in 94 with the "Division Bell" tour without Roger. I have to say that Roger and company stayed true to the music and performed it as well, if not better than I have ever heard performed before. And again the brilliant lady wailing "Great Gig in The Sky" brought tears to my eyes.
And "Sheep" WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!!! For you non-California folks, understand, the Hollywood Bowl, is a pretty good concert venue, sound-wise, but everything else sucks. The traffic, parking (18 $), organization, facilities, and just being in LA, makes me only wanting to make the 4 hour drive south, from up the coast, for the very best of reasons. Roger Waters? I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The superlatives don't do justice to being there. My seats were pretty much the geographical center of the bowl... in section G1 Row 16 seats 13 and 15. I wanted badly to see him last October at the same venue, but wasn't able. After telling someone at work how bummed I was to have missed it, he said, "Beg, borrow or steal in order to get there next spring, or you'll regret it. Trust me!"
Sound advice, because this show was a life changing event for me. Some things, you have to live thru in order to understand what happens, and this was one of those things. Another night like this was when Springsteen opened the Staples Center in 1999, and did "Incident on 57th Street", "The Promise", "For You", and a few other gems, most surprising of all was him at the piano on "Blinded by the Light." But I digress... it's just that I'm a died in the wool fan of Bruce, and those songs are some of my favorites that I never hear on the radio, to say nothing of actually thinking I'd ever see him do them live, so that night was one I never thought I'd see ...
So it was with Roger Waters and his band two nights ago. Just hearing the songs from Dark Side alone would have made me (if I could make those 2 words blink in neon red, I would). Seeing him do all the other songs that I've been listening to for such a long time was icing on the big, gooey cake, and I got it all over my face eating it, too (to use a yummy euphemism).
I thought that "Comfortably Numb" was asking too much, but he closed with that, thusly losing what was left of my voice from the screaming and hooting from the whole rest of the evening. For some reason, I thought that Run Like Hell would a been a more likely closer, since how it end swith more of a finish... ya know? I guess that's the only real criticism I could offer... I would have traded the new song about Beiruit for either Run Like Hell or Learning To Fly (I know, Gilmour vocal, but I can dream, can't I??), and I know that's kinda nit picky, seeing as how I just got to be in the presence of a living rock legend, and who's music I have been listening to since I can remember.
The real reason I came to your website is to find out where I can get a set list
from that show, if you can please help me. It's mostly a blur, and I'm trying to
remember the order he did everything in. All I can tell you is, I'm still taking
it in 48 hrs later.
