Roger expressed
his political views throughout the show, including on the flying pig "which got stuck in the rafters." For the
most part, the crowd really got into it (there were a few assholes that didn't like his views). There were also a
few that believe that you should sit through a concert, but when you have a true God finally coming back to
the U.S., STAND for God sake!!!!
The first part of the show seemed to really just fly by... then he did a 15
minute intermission... then it came... and boy did it ever hit!!!! You could hear the heartbeat from
everywhere near the complex, My God I was in heaven!!! At last "Dark Side"!!!! They played with such detail
you would think that they were the ones that did the original!!! The Great Gig in the Sky was just
mesmerizing!!!!
Anyway this was a graduation present for my daughter, and she seemed to be as stoked
as I was... All in all, it was worth the extra money from his last tour... I so hope he comes somewhere
close again... Shine On all and enjoy the best show on earth!!!
From the start you could see that this concert had more to it than the In the Flesh Tour. It had a huge crystal
clear screen at the back of the stage. At 8:15 Roger and company came on stage... From the start of "In the
Flesh" until the final encore of Comfortably Numb, he and his group were just awesome!!!
Roger's voice was clear and he sounded as good as he did 20 years ago. We sat on the grassy area and found the sound wasn't quite right. It seemed the speakers servicing that area kept cutting in & out. We moved down and found the sound much better.
The Dark Side of the Moon set was unbelievable. He had a great bunch of musicians and backup singers with him. I will try and catch another show on the tour. For Floyd fans, this tour is NOT to be missed.
a side note for those who had issues with Rogers comments on the state
of current politics. Too fucking bad!! Roger's been singing about this
stuff since he began writing music. He's made his views known regarding
his own country's politics and that of others. He speaks the truth and
if people have a problem with it, then they can stay home and watch
network news. They say all the "right" things. You obviously have no
idea who Roger Waters is anyway. If you want a sanitized, feel good
show, then I suggest the American Idol tour. I think it's coming to
town soon.
I have seen so many great shows over the last 30 years, but this was the BEST. I took my 17 yr old son with me, this was his first concert, and he was just blown away, what a show to see for your first concert, he still hasn't stopped talking about it. Only thing that he didn't like, was that the Pig got hung up and he didn't get to bounce it back with the crowd.
This is truly a must see concert for any Waters
or Pink Floyd fan. The band was awesome and Roger
sounded and looked great.
And ditto to what Martin said, about people who may
have had issues with Rogers comments on the state of
current politics, Roger speaks from his heart.
For all those who are going to a show soon and read
our comments, get ready for FANTASTIC show...

I am writing after reading about all the people who didn't like Roger Waters "bashing America" at the Atlanta concert. I find it interesting that they feel that way. Who is it that they thought they were going to see? Roger Waters has had anti-war themes in many of his albums. It got a bit thick for me in the Final Cut, but others liked that album so to each his own. He put on a huge show of "The Wall" at the falling of the Berlin Wall and he is not the only one disappointed at how the US has responded as the only remaining superpower. Waters is against senseless wars and Bush has created one, thus the political stance. If you think that Bush has served America well with his Iraq policy then so be it, I hope you think more clearly in other aspects of your life.
I'm as American as you and I want my country back. At the least be advised that Waters bashed Bush (out of utter frustration I imagine) not America. Also you may wish to stick to country western concerts and hope you don't see the Dixie Chicks. However, it is good to have your points of view on the web so you can save like-minded people from wasting their money on future Roger Waters shows.
Also for the guy who wants to pass water on Barrett's grave, be advised that the spelling is Syd not Sid. Also be advised that no one cares if you do or not so don't go out of your way.
As for the Tampa show, we were sitting near the back of the area with seats near the back speakers. The visuals were super, much better than the more subdued In the Flesh tour. The music was excellent as usual. I very much enjoyed the tribute to Sid (sic) from Wish You Were Here. Dark Side of the Moon was fun to see again although I would like to see him do Amused to Death sometime.
All in all it was a magical night. There were a lot of people shuffling in and out during the music which was distracting. I wondered why they paid for the show, but I guess it was something to say they went to or be seen at.
In the end I decided it was good to have all the
disingenuous there because it allows Waters to tour and be seen and heard by
the many who care. In 1987 Waters was not able to fill 10,000 seat arenas &
was going broke lugging all the equipment around while "Pink Floyd" would
play the same cities to 100,000. By the way which one's Pink? Now if only
Lothar and the Hand People would make a comeback...
Cheers,

It had been nearly seven years since I last saw him perform in Tampa. I must admit this show was better than the 2000 show. The Ford Amphitheater is a great place to see a concert. The sold out crowd was mesmerized by Rogers performance.
This was the seventh concert I've been to in my life and I finally got some good seats. A bit pricey but well worth it!
I wish Roger performed more of his solo work but I'm not going to complain. "Have a Cigar" was never one of my favorite Floyd songs, but it was one of the highlightes of the night for me after I heard it performed live. "Sheep" was also a high point of the night for me. Not only was it a great song to hear live, but the inflatable pig got loose in the crowd during the song. People were using it like a beachball. Eventually the pig popped and caught in the rafters. Everyone got a big laugh, including Roger.
I also enjoyed "Set the Controls." It feels like you are going back in time when you hear that song. I felt privileged to see the complete Dark Side of the Moon performed. I especially liked the "On the Run" sequence. "Comfortably Numb" was a great way to end it, as usual.
This concert will be forever etched in my memory. Thank you again Roger for delivering. Do you think this will be Roger's last tour?
