Around the River Plate Stadium (where the '78 Soccer world cup final match was
played) you could feel the energy in the air. It was amazing, but you could see three
generations of Argentinians gathered around "the Icon". I belong to the second
one.
I grew up listening this music: The dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here,
The Wall in the early eighties... and then the Malvinas war and The Final Cut,
showing the war from the British point of view (of course not the "official" point
of view).
When I got into the stadium the urban tribe was there, under the moonlight.
My 120 pesos ticket (40 dollars) left me a little far from the stage.
Nevertheless I could see the glass, the bottle, an airplane and the radio on the big screen. (I
thought they really were there on stage). Suddenly a huge hand is tuning the dial of the radio to good music,
the lights turn out, and some small silhouettes come out onto the stage.
In the Flesh begins, and under the spotlight, the one with spots is finally exposed. The
guitar drives me under my Mother's wing. Pages of my history are turned one after another.
I can't believe what I'm alive.
Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Wish You Were Here, Have A Cigar.
The Fletcher Memorial Home, and the cenotaph of the first tears from my eyes. Pigs
flying in the Buenos Aires sky's (and I assure you, we have lots of them).
The break allows you to take a deep breath. A growing moon on the screen predicts what's next.
Pure emotions, sounds,
noise, music again, lights, moving sounds all around the stadium, clocks' bells,
The great gig in the sky, that incredible black metal voice.
At that time everybody remembered Vera Lynn and with tears in our eyes we
cried for the boys to bring them back home. But everything has an end. And Comfortably Numb was
the perfect song.
On the way back home I stopped to buy a Roger Waters T-shirt for my son.
I saw Roger Waters: Now, I can rest in peace.
Last night I was part of it.
I've never seen nothing like that. A dream came true. The next wants to be a
chronicle.

Hi, it was a amazing show, absolutely spectacular. The most important part however, was that
most audio sound at River Plate Stadium is horrible. It has zero percent good acoustics, but the Roger
Waters concert sounded unbelievable, as he has the worlds greatest live surround sound system ever!!!
Thanks!!!!,

The greatest Show I have seen in 41 years. Excellent!!!
A re-encounter of Roger Waters with his fans. The older and the wiser.
The tracks sounded as good as if we were listening to them in our living room, and Waters message (highly political and thoughtful) was like fresh air in the stench that is so much of Rock today which lack meaningful Lyrics.
Thank you Roger for your music.
For me, this was one of the best times of my life, as I went again with my wife, but I also took my kids of 5 and 9 years old!!
It was incredibly emotional. My son asked me to buy him a t-shirt of the show. So there we were, I with my Roger Waters' '99 Jones Beach black concert t-shirt, and my kid with his black Buenos Aires 2007 one. Tears began streaming down my cheeks. Look, I'm 41 years old and had to wait 34 years and travel a long distances to see Roger for the first time, and here was my kid, only 9 and enjoying the show for free! That night we had been invited by the local promoters, as I was involved in moving the equipment to Brazil.
We saw the show fm a low area in the left side of the stadium. And we aprecciated better the sound effects and lights from this different vantage point than directly in front of the stage as we had been the night before.
It was another incredible night! I couldn't believe my son attending the whole show standing on his seat clapping after every song!!! (I have to admit my daughter of five went to sleep during the second part and woke up at the encore).
Well, one last thing of interest was the people leaving the stadium. I saw groups waving their
shirts over their heads, but in silence!!! People walking... but looking at the floor in a daze,
stupified and in awe. People were saying that it was the best concert ever, and so on., and hoping
Roger cames back again sometime.
