From the Mexico City Mexico Show
March 6th 2007

Total Eclipse

Precisely 5 years after his first visit to Mexico during the "In the Flesh" tour back in 2002, Roger Waters presented, with great success, his "Dark Side of the Moon" show in 3 major cities of this country. March 2 in guadalajara, the 4th in Monterrey and finally the 6th in Mexico City.

All 3 shows were sold out, and over 200 000 Mexican fans witnessed this great tour, which has captured the attention of the music world.

With the exception of The Dark Side of the Moon, the set was exactly the same as in the 2006 tour, consequently, I will not list the songs and will only comment on the specific topics which captured the attention of the crowd.

Sound

The sound was outstanding, the quality and intensity of the quadraphonic system used, captured the attention of all, and produced great reactions. The most memorable sound effects were:

Images

The images projected on the giant screens were phenomenal. They brought the audience to experience, along with the sound effects and of course the music, a variety of trips that one could only create in your own mind. The most commented on images were:

Message The message got through, even with the language barrier, the crowd completely understood the message, and the criticisms against Bush and Blair and the war, captured the hearts of all.

Roger was right on target, he wrote on the giant pig, "Bush, you pig, don't build the wall!" And then, he had kids from a children's chorus on stage with shirts that read "fear builds walls"

And to have a filled stadium watching a submarine bomb an off shore oil platform, just as we all now watch the news and see how the war is developing, it was very impressive...

One of the most dramatic happenings at the Mexico City show was that the pig got loose from the ropes and flew into the sky, making the crowd go wild. Has this happened in any other show ????

The closing of the concert was magic. The guitar solo in Comfortably Numb was superb, even though it was clear that it took 2 guitarists to perform what Gilmour could accomplish. But in closing, it was clear that Roger was and will always be Pink Floyd.

Roger left with a promise to come back, and Mexico will remain in total eclipse until then...

Fantastic performance at Sol Forum! It was unbeliveble to watch the pink pig flying straight into the aztec sky with slogans written on against the Texan cowboy (Bush).

Really a great show! Congratulations and thank you for your concern for the aztec people!

Disappointed in Waters show in Mexico City.
I want to tell you about the terrible sound at the concert in Mexico city. I'm really sad about that. I didn't enjoy the concert because of it.

I was very excited about the concert, since December I was waiting for that day. But when I was at the show I felt disappointed. I paid about 85 US Dollars for a ticket in the "orange zone," the second highest price at the concert, for the worst sound I ever heard in a concert.

It was supposed to be the best concert in my life, and it wasn't! I feel Angry about the money I spent, but the real problem is the psychological damage. Not everybody has the chance to see something like this. It was ROGER WATERS, one of the most legendary musicians in the world, and I suffered throughout the concert waiting for better sound that never came, so, believe me, I'm really sad and disappointed...

Hi!! I`m really excited because of what I saw, heard and felt, even 6 days after the concert!!

It has been the best show I have been to, but not only for the music, pyrotechnics, images and everything we could see, but for the ideas and what this man can create

We must remember that Roger is a critic of our modern life, this includes politicians, materialism, wars and the need to question ourselves. That`s Roger Waters, an artist with a strong responsability for the rest of the world.

This was my fist time seeing Roger Waters, and it was a real high! I hope I can see him again, because men of peace like him will remain, and I hope the man of terror called bush, and all his fellow tyrant mates keep away in the Fletcher Memorial Home

For all Roger fans around the world, the writing on the big pig in Mexico said: "Cerdo Bbush derriba el muro de la frontera (Bush is a pig, tear down the border wall)".

Thank you Roger!!!
