Good Show. But Roger, we don't need your opinion about how we, who are American
Citizens, should vote. We don't tell you how to handle your politics in Britain,
and we don't need your opinion on Bush or the Iraq war. We realize you have this
thing about war, more specifically, WWII. Time to move on. Time to quit sailing
on yesterdays air. Stick to music, Roger. it's what you do so well.
Dallas Fan
But back to the show. I enjoyed the new song you did, also the guitar players you brought were great. It's rare when an artist ever has something of value to convey to the masses and Roger you are one of them.
Best of luck in the future. And hopefully david will come around
and you guys could do one more tour.
The second show I saw was at the Oakland Coliseum. This offered a stark contrast to the Shoreline show in that is was an indoor venue. I thought the acoustics sounded better, and I had center stage seating. I wasn't late for this one either. The new sound effects that were included in 'On The Run' were mind melting, as were the guitar solos on 'Money,' 'Time,' and many more of the songs in the first set.
For the Dallas show, I felt like a pilgrim in a strange land. Texans are a different bunch, especially when compared to the Northern California crowds I'm used to. I did feel quite at home with the venue in that it was an open outdoor show, and the grassy lawn was a cross between the Shoreline Amphitheater and the Concord Pavilion. The only problem acoustically was that there was a speaker malfunction on the left side of the lawn. It finally cleared up half way through 'Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun'. After that, everything came through loud and clear.
Perhaps one of your readers can clear something up for me. When the pig was taken to the right side of the lawn, it rose and was then abruptly pulled back down. My friend and I couldnt tell if the Texas crowd was angered by the message and was trying to pull the pig down and do it harm, or not? I know we were in Bush/Cheney county, but I hardly found the Vote Obama slogan offensive enough to try and batter a defenseless inflatable animal? Please let me know.
I thought Snowy White played the best I've seen him so far. The band was tight and the music was amazing. I especially liked the female lead vocalist Carol Kenyon on Great Gig in the Sky. Her range was amazing. If I owned a baseball team, she'd sing every National Anthem. Dave Kilminster also gave a great vocal performance. I remember being impressed when I heard him sing Dogs when I saw Roger Waters at the Shoreline many years ago. He's improved since then. 'Us and Them' was one of my favorites and almost made me want to shed tears both at how beautiful it sounded, and because I knew the show was coming to a close. The guitar and organ sounded especially good on 'Any Colour You Like'.
All in all, after seeing this tour three times, I have to say that my only disappointment is that I can't see it a fourth time, and that he didn't play 'The Bravery of Being Out of Range'.

First of all, after waiting for an hour outside, I got to meet the man himself and give him an "Out of Iraq NOW" sticker. As you can see from the picture he thought it was pretty great, along with me telling him that Bush is a "war criminal" and that Hillary is a power-hungry war-monger. This got a HUGE smile and a second hand shake from him. I let him know I am a Socialist who traveled from Oklahoma, nonetheless.

Onwards... The show itself was amazing, this was my 5th Roger show. Leaving Beirut was met with overwhelming support. When piggie showed up and my section could see "Impeach Bush Now," I shouted "IMPEACH THE MOTHERFUCKER" to which a conservative woman in front of me gave me a dirty look. I just smiled. The feeling of airing my dissent was thrilling.
I must say that the run of songs from Southampton Dock to Sheep was very politically moving and motivating. DSOTM floored the venue, the quad effects were great, every musician in the band is clearly on top of their game. Bring the Boys Back Home, couldn't have been replaced with any other song for the era in which we have lived during this tour.
I would also like to say thanks to Roger's management for taking my info and upgrading my seats in return for the gift to Roger!
By the Way, if you disagree with the anti-Bush/Christian Right sentiments you are
just as guilty as the war-criminal child-killer himself. What about "Thou Shalt
Not Kill?" Maybe you will wind up in your own personal "Fletcher Memorial Home?"
"you better watch out!...there may be dogs about!...I've looked over at Jordon and I see...things aren't what they seem"
