WOW!!! I've seen this show a few times now, but Sunday at th O2 was amazing. It was the best
I've ever seen Roger and the band play. THANK YOU for a great night!
Well done Roger. We will see you next year.
Thank you
The sound was brilliant, the 3D effects really work well in the O2. Seeing the pig and astronaut from above was a bit odd and the prism was great.
Not a big fan of the new backing singer, thought she didn't add anything to Mother. AFL's replacement ripped a load of good chords. The band were very tight, almost too tight in places, you could have almost turned the CD on and let it play instead.
Rumours that DG would appear came to nothing.
Overall, a great show, but I did prefer the Hyde Park and Earls Court shows. We'll see how the second night
goes, have front row seats for it and specially made t-shirts!!
I got tickets the day they were on sale, yet all I could get was a couple of seats at the back in the gods. We were so high up, part of the back screen images were obscured by the lighting rack. The big screens were too small for us to see much.
I saw a photo of Roger recently and he had a bit of a beard. I was keen to see if he still had it. Well, I'm none the wiser.
The 02 is just too big and soul-less. I'd rather see Roger where we can get up and rock, like Hyde Park, Earls Court or The Albert Hall, where the big screens are effective
Having been a Floyd fan since the very beginning, in the early 70's, and kept loyal to them collectively and individually, I was disappointed that going through the official channels. all I could get were seats so far away that the magic of the performance was somewhat lacking.
On BBC4 recently there have been a series of Floyd programmes. Even after all these years, I am as hooked as I was years ago at university when I first got into their music.
Always cool
Maggy
He went through hell to get to Roger Waters concert in 02 Arena in London on 18th May 2008. He was supposed to come from Serbia (former Yugoslavia, where he lives) to the concert in May 2007, but seven days before it, he fell, broke his hip and missed it. Then on 18th May this year, his flight from Belgrade to London was cancelled, so he had to pay a huge amount of money to get another one and get here.
Moreover, on our way to 02 arena, a crazy guy on the tube stopped the train and made us all wait and loose an hour under the ground, so we missed the beginning of the concert!
When we finally entered, we could hardly believe!
This might sound insane, writing about this stuff, but bearing in mind how
isolated Serbia is and how difficult it is from people over there to get out of
the country and everything that happened to him to finally see Roger, we laughed
and decided to write to him (ridicilous, i know, we are all grown-ups, but...).
