JUST TREMENDOUS!! Un-F---in-believable! I have been a die hard fan of
Pink Floyd all the way through The Final Cut, and from then on, my
loyalty is to Roger Waters, for he "IS" Pink Floyd! Gilmour, Wright,
Mason: "Eat your hearts out!!" Now don't get me wrong, those guys were
great, but it is very clear to me and I am sure, to many many more
astute fans, that Waters was and is the undisputable leader, visionary,
and legendary poet that put it all together, and this concert was proof,
that with a few good, not even great musicians around, the essence of
the original feeling with PF was brought to life in a magical way!
The Gilmours, and ... of the world are replaceable, but there is only one ROGER WATERS, a musical, poetic genius, who has made significant differences in the betterement of our world, (He may have indirectly influenced the fall of the berlin wall), made us all aware of the everyday struggles of humanity, and the mundane walls we constantly put up in front of human beings in many ways. He clearly reminds us all that "if we are not aware of these dangers, that we will amuse ourselves to death!
I loved how he opened up with " So Ya.....,thought ya,.....would like to go..to the show!..."Perfect"!!. Few delicious pieces from the wall, then to "Pros and cons"..., then to "Dark side", ...to "Wish you were here",... to "Animals", to "Amused to death"... to finish up with that beautiful poem from a South American prisoner...., it was Magnificent 2and half hour show, filled with poetry and soul-rocking music!!
This was the first time I have seen him on stage, and I hope to be able to do it, many many more times! I cannot wait for his next album! Is there any way to communicate with him via email?? Can one send him fan mail, and if so, to what address???.
Thank you for putting up this site! I am sure you get flooded with fans
responding!
Keep me abreast of any news that develops! I would greatly appreciate
it!

This isn't so much a review (although
the show last night 6/25 was Epic!) as it is a heartfelt thanks for finally
making it back to Northern California.
I can only hope that we get the opportunity to experience the experience again w/out having to wait so long between each visit. Although if I was Roger, I can't say that I wouldn't do the same either with regard to not touring all that much. How come the bands that I could really care less about always come around 2, 3 & sometimes even 4 times a year yet my favorites rarely tour at all? I felt lucky to see Alan Parsons at the Concord Pavilion last year (or was it the year prior?) & he was the opener. Can't believe Foreigner was the headliner for that show.
Anyhow, if Roger or anyone else in the band happens to read this, thanks again for all the memories over the years and for all the wonderful live productions. Last nights show will never be forgotten. Nice job!
REG ROCKS!
Thanks to you, Mr. Simone, for all of your tireless dedication and
helping us starved for info Waters fans along through out the years. I
remember meeting you at the last Waters show here in No. CA at Oakland. Keep
up the great work.

Hi, I went to the show in Mt. View, Ca 6/26/00. In a word
it was "fantastic". I've been to several Floyd shows and this was right up
there. The back-up singers were beautiful as well. If at all possible go !!!

Seen the show there last night. I really enjoyed it. I wish I would have payed extra
for a seat up closer, rather than on the grass. Next time I will.
Roger, if you read this, I liked your new song
at the end of the show, keep up the good work. I hope to see you play in this
area again, I will be there.

I saw the show at ShorelineIN MTN.VIEW last
night. I must say that it kicked major ass!
I was impressed by how well the tunes were arranged, starting out with Pink Floyd stuff and then intergrating his solo material with it throughout the show.
The crowd was a well-buzzed, mello bunch, quick to light a doobie, like me,whenever a killer song began.
This was one of the better concerts I have been to in the last few years. All I can say is this tour is DEFINATELY not one to miss. And for whoever missed the show, hope it ain't his last tour!
P.S
The Shoreline Amphetheater is located in Mountainview,
CA, near Palo
Alto. You're tour list said it was in San Francisco.
Keep a good
rep for your authentic, credible, and factual web
site"Claim" by mabey looking
into where a concert is actually held. I mean, I aint
bitchin' about
me missing the show or anything, but some stupid
people who read you're
listings might have drove to San Fran before realizing
the show is 40-50
minutes down 880 to Mtn.View.

Had the pleasure of witnessing Roger's return the Spotlight at Shoreline
Ampitheatre June 25. What an incredible show!!! Where Pink Floyd was about the
"show",
Roger is about the music, and it was astounding.
I was impressed with the fact that Roger was completely comfortable letting his band shine alongside him. And what a band!!! I have been a fan of Doyle Bramhall since his days with the Fab T-Birds and Arc Angels. He was a pleasure to see again. Snowy was, as usual, understated but amazing. The band as a whole has an impressive pedigree, and it showed in their performance, Kudos to Roger for putting together a most amazing unit.
A perfect evening under the stars in San Francisco, listening to over three hours
of music performed by one of the most gifted musicians of the Rock Era. It
doesn't
get any better than that!!

Well, what can one say?
Roger, man - sharply in focus and letter-perfect.
I travelled quite a distance to see this show - over 2500 miles in fact - to coincide with a very brief vacation. My first taste of California, the atmosphere, the sunsets - more beauty to the square inch than any place I've ever been. Hooked up with an old high-school buddy of mine who works in CGI (to the uninitiated, that's computer-graphic-imaging - buddy's an animator for one of the big film houses) - and we, along with a small crew headed out. The only sour spot to the night was the traffic, but I'm told for San Fran, we got off lightly.
Got to the Shoreline, had a look about, saw some of the old Bill Graham posters (including one for the Animals tour - the big pink pig floating merrily above the fog, headed for the Golden Gate) - and then to our seats, to await the onslaught. And then, after repeated assurances that "five minutes" would see the beginning, it begins...RW, in the Flesh! The setlist is fairly representative of the other shows...to a fault I think (does EVERYTHING need to be reported ahead of time? A slight disappointment, personally speaking) - and into intermission...the second set, truly the magic begins there...
"Set the Controls" never had more life. Same goes for "Time" - yes, and a thousand times yes - this version is better than the other guys' version...sorry, Dave.
What really struck me was the raw energy being put into the Amused to Death material - you can tell that Roger really wants to present this work to his fans, so long starved for anything even remotely approaching the old days. Well this material not only approaches, it peaks and surpasses the older material, in its intensity and in the desire of its creator to show off his gifts, so many and so pure. Well, from myself if none other, THANK YOU, Roger - now I get it.
This was brought home no more strongly than in the closing number, "Each Small Candle" (A quick tangent here - who ELSE would have the sheer balls to open the show with their most famous works, their most popular songs, and end the show with untested material? - Sort of the anti-Freebird, if you ask me) - I get the feeling that hanging out with this younger crop of musicains (esp. Jon Carin, who rightly if anyone apart from RW himself does holds a claim on understanding how Floyd music works) has blossomed a new creative spirit in our hero...the song, quite evolved from the last leg of the tour, has such incredible power behind it...and a complexity that bears out which one is REALLY Pink.
Thank you Roger, I hope you read this note...you've been missed, and greatly
admired by many over so many years...and the best is yet to come. My belief in
that was shaken
over the last dozen years, but no longer.
